Rockin’ and Rollin’, Schmoozing and Snoozing

Well now, if I had one of those cute little smiley face things that looks all embarrassed and shy I’d post one now. (But, I don’t. So, you’ll have to imagine it!)

Earlier this month, I was named a Rockin’ Girl Blogger by one of my all-time favorite Rockin’ Girl Bloggers – Sognatrice, of Bleeding Espresso.

See? Here’s my banner to prove it!

And, now, I get to pass the torch to some of my favorite Rockin’ Girl Bloggers. But, as I think about it…this is HARD to do. I think everyone who is listed in my sidebar is rockin’, and everyone, with the exception of my friend Antonino, is a rockin gal!

But, a torch must be passed, and so, here it goes…

Giula of From Head to Boot who said this last month when talking about customs issues in Italy. “Well, the Dogana police (that’s what I’ll call them) were the ones to deliver my package on Friday. When I heard the words, “Signora, questo paccho viene da l’estero, cè una tassa di Dogana da pagare,” my face scrunched up. He used a whole lot of other words, but after Dogana fee, he lost me. Somewhere in there though, I managed to also hear the words, ‘molto pesante!'”
NYC/Caribbean Ragazza who cracked me up a few weeks ago when she said this referring to Jennifer, Cameron, and Jessica on the cover of US Magazine. “Like I’m supposed to shed a tear. My ass has never been married to anyone much less Brad Pitt or Nick Lachey. I told my boss if I were on the cover it would say something different. For example, out of shape, broke and alone.”

Erin of Fully Alive and Ready to Smile who recently wrote, “I’m 5 foot 7 inches tall and I have the tiniest fingers and toes. It has caused much comic relief for lots of people…They are so short that I have tried and failed at 3 different instruments…piano, flute and guitar. I can’t reach an octave on the piano, my pinky finger goes completely numb while playing flute (so much so that the entire side of my hand right into my arm goes numb) and I can’t reach around the neck of the guitar.”

And…what is this? Another award?? Now, I really need that blushing emoticon!! Once again, the lovely, and all too generous, Sognatice has called me out. This time she said I am a SCHMOOZER…Is that a good thing!?!

Well, this is what she said about bloggers who schmooze, ” (they) effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello – all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.”

To this I say, “ahhhh….heck!” Now I AM embarrased. But the gals I listed below are better at this than I am…trust me and check out their blogs!

Nadine of Just Being Me, who always has a kind, encouraging word or a prayer to offer, (plus she has beautiful pictures on her blog and she has written a really cool book about the Mafia!)
KC of Niente di Nuovo Avviene Sotto il Sole, who knows what I am going through and provides pieces of advice mixed with a bit of humor.Cheeky of All Over the Map, who burst into the blogging world, leaving bits of happiness, but has since disappeared…maybe she is already in Australia?!? Where are you? We miss you!Shelley of At Home in Rome, or is it REALLY ROME now?!? Oops… Well, either way, Shelley offers experienced commentary and guidance. Somehow I always feel better after hearing from her!

Louise of Living Out Loud, Trying to Be Quiet who is always positive and thoughtful in her responses.

Congratulations to all you Rockin Bloggers and Schmoozing Ladies. Thanks for adding to our fun!
