It is NaNo Time Again! NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo Start Today

HTML, CSS, OH, DH, LOL, JJ, TGIF, LYLAS … the list goes on and on and 30somethings like me feel old when we try to decipher some of the latest text messages, uhm, excuse me, SMS messages from the new generation.

Case in point. I received this email via MySpace from my cousin’s 15-year-old daughter.

“… waitin 4 skewl 2 start way ready lolz wats it like up there ive alwayz wanted 2 go hows peppe lolz … .”

Seriously. All I got out of that was “Peppe.” Where is this kid from?!?

But now there are some new acronyms floating around and I’m ready to jump on board and play along.

NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) starts today and I, along with hundreds of bloggers throughout the world, have committed to updating my blog every. day. of. the. month.

I already post Monday-Fridays so a few extra weekends never hurt anybody. Right? Right?

As if posting to My Bella Vita every day wasn’t enough exercise for my writer’s mind, I’m also participating for the first time ever in NaNoWriMo.

NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) also starts today. The idea is to write 1,667 words every day of the month until you have a 50,000 word novel. “No editing,” they say. “That is for December!

So if you plan to play along, “Will you be my friend?” “I’ll be yours!”

I am mybellavita on NaBloPoMo and “cherryemoore” on NaNoWriMo.

If you weren’t planning to join in, then I encourage you to think about it. It isn’t too late!

If you are participating, leave your username(s) in the comments so we can find, encourage and motivate each other throughout the month! If you aren’t participating, feel free to find, encourage and motivate us. I’m thinking we’ll need it!

Happy Writing and Buon Weekend!

“HTML, CSS, OH, DH, LOL, JJ, TGIF, LYLAS … the list goes on and on and 30somethings like me feel old when we try to decipher some of the latest text…” So true, at least I am not alone! I never thought 33 would be old…

I actually remember when “30” was old… that was a looooong time ago!

  4. Hi Cherrye,
I have been stalking your blog for the last few weeks. I traveled to Italy the end of Sept (something I had always dreamed of doing) and of course fell in love! I am planning on coming back in 2010 (as soon as I finish my MBA) and will be traveling through southern Italy; hoping to make a visit to your lil B&B. It looks fabulous! This is the first I have heard about NaBloPoMo so I am going to get on it! 1 month of posting… this might be hard. I look forward to reading yours!
