Planning, Preparation, Program and Promise

Planning

We work with you to plan all of the details of the land portion of your trip, offering destination recommendations and route suggestions, when needed.

To explore your heritage, we will arrange special entrance into city archives, organize local meet-and-greets and plan exclusive experiences that are related to your group’s southern Italian ancestry.

We organize all of your land transportation and airport transfers.

Your expert tour guides are booked and confirmed prior to your arrival.

If needed, we can coordinate with your travel agent to ensure your land and air portions coordinate and flow seamlessly.

Preparation

Your group leader will receive a full package of information to distribute to travelers, including your approved custom itinerary package with highlights, “on your own” time suggestions, pictures and more, as well as our Calabria Travel Tips ebook.

Each of your group members is invited to attend a live webinar with Cherrye Moore, owner of My Bella Vita Travel, LLC prior to the trip to discuss any questions or concerns and to gain a better understanding of the group’s itinerary.

Program

Your group will be met at the airport (or Calabria arrival point) by Cherrye Moore, owner of My Bella Vita Travel, LLC or one of our highly trained bilingual heritage specialists.

She will escort your group throughout the trip, offering you 24-hour access to a bilingual coordinator.

In many cases, an assistant accompanies the tour, providing members 24-hour access to an additional bilingual escort and Calabria expert.

Group members are provided access to a Calabria travel binder, with information on various activities and excursions near your base town(s), as well as restaurant, bar and gelateria recommendations for non-tour mealtimes.

Promise

We own a home in Calabria and travel often throughout the area. We have visited the main attractions many times and have contacts in each province offering even more localized recommendations for your group tour. Even the most diligent and qualified travel agent can’t match our knowledge of Calabria … that’s why they often call on us when their clients visit this region.

We know what this trip means to you. Many of our clients travel to Calabria searching for their family heritage and we understand the emotional impact this trip will have on you.

We promise you a truly customized, fully private tour. We won’t add other travelers to any of your excursions or encourage you to go where you don’t want to go.

Your tour will feature exclusive experiences! We created many of the experiences in our tours, so you won’t find them available anywhere else.

We never accept commission from hotels, restaurants, tour companies or guides for any of our group tours, so there is never a conflict of interest … you get the best selections for your group. Every time.

Private Customized Group Tours

What is included in a private group tour?

All of My Bella Vita Travel’s private tours are customized so we will work together to choose the itinerary and include activities-such as sailing, cooking classes or wine tours, excursions-like mountain hikes or archaeological visits and hotels, meals, expert guides and more.

Is the price all-inclusive?

The price includes whatever you want to include. Some groups choose to include everything – all hotels, meals, transfers, classes and tours in the price, while others prefer to includes hotels, a few group meals and two or three important group excursions.

How much can we expect to spend per person on a private group tour?

Price varies greatly depending on how many days you are here, when and where you want to go, the activities you want to include and how many people are in your group.

To give you an idea, I’ve created private group tours that range from €1700-€2900 per person – again, depending on the number of people in the group and their preferences.

If you have a budget in mind, just send me a message and let me know. It’s much easier to create the perfect tour for you when we know how much your group members are expecting to spend.

Will you plan our trip or will one of your staff do the planning?

When you work with My Bella Vita Travel, you will be working with me, the owner and founder – Cherrye Moore. I will plan your trip and I’ll be the one communicating with you the entire time. If you want to include other regions in your tour, I will work with one of my trusted colleagues to help plan that section with you.

Do you book flights?

I don’t – but I can either coordinate with your travel agent, recommend an agent to you for group travel or tell you about the airlines I personally choose when I’m traveling.
