Private Ancestry Tour Terms and Conditions

Please read this document carefully as it contains information pertinent to your private ancestry tour. To complete your booking, you must acknowledge you have read and agree to all the terms and conditions specified below. Additionally, your presence on any portion of the tour will serve as your acknowledgement and agreement to these terms and conditions.

INITIAL DETAILS
Your private ancestry tour price will be defined in the final project and is subject to your final approval. MBV Travel, LLC requires a $300 upfront fee and a signed copy of these terms and conditions to begin customizing your tour. This fee is not an additional expense and will be deducted from your deposit.

We accept payments via all major credit cards, personal check (to a US bank) or Paypal.

INCLUSIONS
Exact inclusion details and pricing are determined on a per-traveler basis.

Please note that for one-day tours
– Heritage Specialists are booked on a per-day basis and the price includes 7-8 hours with the specialist. Given the spontaneous nature of private ancestry tours, specialists can be available for overtime, upon request and based on his/her availability. The rate is €30 per hour over eight hours; the balance is due immediately following your tour and can be paid only in cash euros directly to the specialist.

– The specialist will meet the traveler at the agreed upon point and is available to drive them throughout the town/villages planned for the day. This might be done in his/her private car and the cost is included in the quote. By acknowledging this contract, travelers are agreeing to be transported in a private vehicle. My Bella Vita Travel, LLC and the heritage specialist assume no liability for the transfers. Travelers who prefer the cost of a professional car service to be included in their tour should advise My Bella Vita Travel during the planning process.

My Bella Vita Travel devotes advanced research time to confirming basic historical family information and utilizing confirmed records to search for and identify the neighborhood, home(s), church(es), streets and piazzas that were part of a client’s family history. In some cases this time is used to locate and begin discussions with living relatives.

My Bella Vita Travel works to capture the essence of a family in a specific ancestral village and showcase these highlights during the day tour.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY
The success of each ancestry tour is dependent upon the client providing My Bella Vita Travel with a minimum of accurate historical familial information on which they can build a tour. If provided family information cannot be confirmed by relevant city hall officials, the client will be given the option of working with a professional genealogical company (price not included in original tour price) or visiting their ancestral village in more general terms.

My Bella Vita Travel is not a genealogical company. Although a specialist can serve as an interpreter and help travelers request official records, My Bella Vita Travel cannot and will not take responsibility for follow-up communications with city officials, for translating Italian documents post-tour or for accepting and sending official records on the traveler’s behalf. My Bella Vita Travel is happy to recommend one of our partner companies who can help procure or translate documents.

MONEY MATTERS
All tour and vacation prices are listed on a per person basis and are based on double occupancy, unless otherwise noted. My Bella Vita Travel provides inclusive travel packages and tours at one price to our travelers and does not itemize or provide cost breakdown. Payments are made in US dollars.

NSF CHECKS
If a check is returned to us due to non-sufficient funds, My Bella Vita Travel will assess a $50.00 fee per occurrence. This fee will be added to the tour or vacation balance to be paid in full no later than 60 days prior to departure or the reservation will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.

PHOTOGRAPHS
My Bella Vita Travel reserves the right to use photographs and videos of guests taken during ancestry tours in promotional materials without compensation or advanced notice. If you desire a specific picture not be used, please contact My Bella Vita Travel and the photo will be removed from promotional materials.

It is the responsibility of the traveler to obtain passports, visas and other travel documents. Please check with your local embassy or consulate. My Bella Vita Travel cannot accept responsibility if you are refused access to a country due to improper documentation.

Travel can be risky and parts of your tour or vacation may be non-refundable. If you are concerned, you may want to consider purchasing travel insurance. Full refunds will be made only if My Bella Vita Travel cancels an ancestry tour. We cannot and will not refund or re-apply payments or deposits in the event of a cancellation by a traveler. Additionally, no refund will be made for any unused portion of the tour, including if the traveler(s) opt to skip lunch or find alternative transportation / transfers.
